Christmas Blog Post #20: The Bah-Hum-Bug Blues

Funny that the day after I post about Christmas JOY I feel all bah-hum-bug-ish! But it happens. To a lot of folks.

Some of the woes I'm dealing with are:

Financial. Ain't we all?!

Health stuff. My sweet mother-in-law is in the hospital with what we thought was a serious stomach virus but the doctors aren't sure what it is that's making her so sick. We normally have Christmas dinner at their house, but may have to change plans, which is perfectly okay. Definitley want to make things easier on her!

Warm weather! I simply canNOT get into the Christmas spirit when it's 78 stinkin' degrees outside!! >:[

Worries about the kids and their futures, immediate and down the road.

Disappointment. Something I thought might happen in 2010 didn't. {{{sigh}}}

But in all honesty, none of that is significant enough to put a damper on Christmas for me! Sure, some of it's heavy, especially the situation with my mother-in-law. Yet Christ was born two-thousand-plus years ago! He left the glory of heaven and willingly came to earth to live...to die...and to live again. Christmas comes whether I "feel" like it or not!

Life isn't perfect or without worries. Jesus never said it would be. Not even at Christmas! "In this world you will have trouble," Jesus said in John 16:33. "But take heart!" he continued. "I have overcome the world!"

If that isn't reason to celebrate, then I don't know what is!

I won't let the Bah-hum-bug blues ruin Christmas for me!

I hope you won't either!

Come visit me in Georgia ... it was a balmy 51 today, the first break we've had from 30s and low 40s weather. There was ice on the driveway this morning.

My only problem is that with it this cold, I want snow!
